Dawn Staley has solidified her position as one of the most influential figures in women’s basketball, both on and off the court. In January 2025, she made history by signing a $25.25 million contract extension with the University of South Carolina, making her the highest-paid coach in women’s college basketball. The deal includes a $4 million annual salary, a $500,000 signing bonus, and a $250,000 annual raise through the 2029–30 season .
Since taking the helm in 2008, Staley has transformed the Gamecocks into a national powerhouse, leading them to six Final Four appearances and three NCAA championships (2017, 2022, 2024).
