legendary rock band Talking Heads has officially confirmed a 2026 reunion tour across six major North American cities. For the first time in over two decades, David Byrne, Tina Weymouth, Chris Frantz, and Jerry Harrison will share the stage once more—igniting an outpouring of excitement from fans who never thought they’d see the groundbreaking group perform together again.
The six-city tour, simply titled “Once in a Lifetime: The Reunion Tour,” will kick off in Los Angeles in April 2026, followed by stops in Chicago, Toronto, New York City, Atlanta, and wrapping up in San Francisco. Each city will host a single, large-scale performance in iconic venues yet to be officially confirmed.
“We’ve had our differences, sure—but the time feels right,” frontman David Byrne shared in a statement. “The world’s changed a lot since we last played together. So have we. But the music? That still feels timeless.”
Talking Heads last performed together in 2002 during their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Since then, reunion hopes have flickered and faded—until now. The band’s decision reportedly stemmed from the overwhelmingly positive response to the recent re-release of their concert film Stop Making Sense, which played in IMAX theaters globally in 2023, reigniting interest in their catalog across generations.
Longtime fans are already scrambling to sign up for presale access, with social media buzzing about the chance to experience classics like “Psycho Killer,” “Burning Down the House,” and “This Must Be the Place (Naive Melody)” live once again.
“Seeing them live was always a dream I thought would never come true,” said 29-year-old fan Marcus Kent from Toronto. “Now, it’s actually happening.”
