Dallas, TX — June 21, 2025
In a stunning act of generosity, Dallas Cowboys superstar wide receiver CeeDee Lamb has donated the entirety of his $12.9 million bonus and recent sponsorship earnings to a local initiative combating homelessness in Dallas. The funds will directly support the construction of 150 permanent supportive housing units and provide 300 emergency shelter beds as part of a sweeping effort to address the city’s growing crisis.
“I’ve seen the effects of homelessness up close—people struggling just to survive, right in our backyard,” Lamb said in an emotional press conference. “It’s not just about writing a check. It’s about giving people a chance to rebuild, to feel safe, to feel human again.”
Lamb, 26, has been a cornerstone of the Cowboys’ offense, but this off-field play may be the most impactful of his career. Partnering with Bridge Builders Dallas and the North Texas Housing Alliance, Lamb’s donation will fast-track construction on a long-delayed mixed-use site in South Dallas. The project is expected to open its doors by early 2026.
Community leaders are calling Lamb’s move “transformational.”
“CeeDee isn’t just giving money—he’s giving hope,” said Angela Morris, director of the Southside Shelter Project. “This gift means hundreds of our neighbors will no longer have to choose between a warm bed and the streets.”
Lamb credited his late grandmother, a former social worker, for inspiring his commitment to social justice. “She always told me, ‘If you’re in a position to help, you do it without hesitation.’ That’s what today is about.”
In a city where professional athletes are often defined by stats and Super Bowls, Lamb is redefining what leadership looks like.
As the Cowboys prepare for another playoff run, it’s clear their star receiver is already winning—off the field and in the hearts of gold
