Christian Evangelical Charismatic community in disbelief, world-renowned televangelist and founder of Jesse Duplantis Ministries, Pastor Jesse Duplantis, has filed for divorce from his wife of nearly five decades, Cathy Duplantis.
The announcement was made during a private leadership meeting at Covenant Church in Destrehan, Louisiana, on Sunday evening, followed by a public statement issued via the ministry’s official website Monday morning.
The 75-year-old prosperity gospel preacher, known for his flamboyant preaching style, international crusades, and high-profile ministry presence on Christian television networks, addressed his stunned congregation with a heavy heart. “This is not a decision made lightly, nor one that reflects a failure in faith or calling,” Duplantis said from the pulpit. “After much prayer, counseling, and soul-searching, Cathy and I have chosen to separate legally and move forward independently.”
