Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams is poised to lead the team into a transformative 2025 season, following a promising rookie year and significant offseason upgrades. Selected first overall in the 2024 NFL Draft, Williams set franchise rookie records with 3,541 passing yards, 20 touchdowns, and just six interceptions, despite being sacked a league-high 68 times.
The Bears have made substantial investments to support Williams’ development. General Manager Ryan Poles bolstered the offensive line by acquiring All-Pro guard Joe Thuney and former Pro Bowl guard Jonah Jackson, and signed center Drew Dalman. These moves aim to provide Williams with better protection and a more stable offensive environment.
Additionally, the hiring of Ben Johnson as head coach brings a creative, quarterback-centric approach to the team. Johnson’s track record with Detroit’s offense, where quarterback Jared Goff surpassed 4,400 passing yards in each of his three seasons under Johnson, suggests that Williams could be the first Bears quarterback to exceed 4,000 passing yards in a single season.
Williams has expressed a commitment to growth, stating that he is “really excited, really inspired and encouraged about what’s to come.” He aims to build on the lessons learned from his rookie season and take on a more assertive leadership role.
With enhanced support and a renewed focus, Caleb Williams is positioned to be the catalyst for the Bears’ resurgence in the 2025 season.
