COLUMBUS, OH – In a major recognition of college football excellence, three Ohio State football games have been named among the 25 greatest games since the year 2000. The announcement, made by a national sports outlet on Friday, has Buckeye fans reliving iconic moments from the past two decades.
Topping the list for Ohio State is the legendary 2003 Fiesta Bowl, where the Buckeyes upset the Miami Hurricanes in a double-overtime thriller to win the BCS National Championship. The game, often cited as one of the most controversial and hard-fought in history, solidified Ohio State’s return to national prominence under then-head coach Jim Tressel.
Also making the list is the dramatic 2015 Sugar Bowl win against Alabama in the College Football Playoff semifinals. Led by third-string quarterback Cardale Jones, the Buckeyes stunned the Crimson Tide with a 42-35 victory, paving the way for their eventual national title. Ezekiel Elliott’s unforgettable 85-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter remains one of the most iconic plays in modern OSU history.

With an undefeated regular season and a spot in the national title game on the line, the Buckeyes emerged victorious in a 42-39 shootout at Ohio Stadium.
